Right, so…you’re transported to a new world, and me being the science geek I am, I can’t help but think of all the bacteria you wouldn’t be accustomed to in Twisted Wonderland…so imagine how bad flu season would be, or just the spreading of sicknesses around the school in general
You better have a good immune system cause oml would it be put into overdrive. Anyways…here’s my twist on what the Heartslabyul boys would do in order to be helpful in your recovery ❤️‍🩹
Let me know if you’d want to see other dorms!
Heartslabyul, Savanaclaw, Octavinelle, Scarabia, Pomefiore, Ignihyde, Diasomnia
Warnings!:
Sickness, obviously
Mentions of vomiting, snot, etc
To start us off…
It’s flu season in Twisted Wonderland, well you call it the flu, they call it something else you don’t even bother to learn. With you’re immune so shot and not used to the illnesses that spread around, getting sick more often that you honestly should, you woke up with a headache. Ok…nothing too serious, but you thought it to be a good idea to just take some ibuprofen equivalent in their world and “thug it out,” which ultimately lead to your current situation. Currently, you’re in the infirmary, having passed out from a raging fever and a disgustingly congested respiratory system during PE and you’re bed ridden back at ramshackle, at least until your fever goes down. Sevens bless Grim and the ghosts as they try and get you things to feel better, but you need some sort of intervention, and here comes you’re favorite person at the right time. How do they help you out?
Tumblr media
Riddle👑:
He walks in with disinfectant spray and sprays down frequently touched surfaces, no joke.
Being raised by doctors he has a sense for what to do, so he jumps right on in making sure you take you’re medications at the right time, and consistently checks your temperature to make sure it goes down
Now…he can’t cook that well, so he has Trey make you things and drop them off while Riddle lectures you on proper rest…ok, is he gonna let you rest or no—
Whenever you cough or sniffle he’ll back up a bit and probably cover his mouth :/
If you throw up he’ll panic and back away even more. He’ll just use magic to clean it or something. After the fact he’ll realize he needs to make sure you’re ok, and he’ll awkwardly pat your back as you calm down again. He’s not too great at comforting. Give him time.
He’ll make sure Ramshackle is in tip top shape and performance, and he’ll drive off Ace, Deuce, grim, and anyone else from bugging you too much while you try and rest up
Trey♣️:
Of course I’m going to mention him making food for you, because it’s something that he’d do, don’t even lie to me. He’ll make you whatever your want, especially if you’re feeling extremely picky as to what you consume.
If you don’t want to eat anything, he’ll use doodle suite to try and make it taste even better to get you to eat it. If you still won’t budge he won’t be mad, just disappointed :(
Again with being on top of medications. He practically takes care of his whole dorm already and has that caring dad vibe going for him, so you’re gonna be taken care of well
He doesn’t care if you sneeze or cough on him. Probably won’t even blink if you puke on him. He’ll just help you and reassure you. He has younger siblings, he’s capable
He’ll probably get sick from taking care of you…repay him back later
Cater♦️:
Will be there mainly for emotional support
He’s gonna take pictures, captioning them with something like #playingdoctor#takingcareofmybestie#PREFECTISDYING
…anyways
He’ll make you things to eat, but they’ll probably be spicy, which in turn will make you snot up an even bigger storm, but he’ll chalk it down to “helping clear out your system from the bacteria.”
He’d set timers for when you need to take medicine and he’ll wait on you. Whatever you need he’ll do it…he’ll take pictures as usual, though. Tissues? You got it. More pillows and blankets. He’s on it.
You throw up he’s gonna go quiet and, same thing like I mentioned, be there for emotional support, his hand gently rubbing your shoulder as you calm down and he won’t say a thing…
If you fall asleep he’ll stay by your side and scroll on his phone, he’ll probably search up what else he can do to hopefully ease up any discomfort you have. He’s determined.
Ace❤️:
Saying this from the heart, he’ll be a dick, but he’ll try to tone it down and be a bit more loving.
If you so much as breath on him he’ll complain and glare at you, but there’s no real hatred behind it.
He’s the type to complain whenever you ask him for things, even though he literally came over to help…like ok bro.
“Prefect do it yourself. Fineeeee, I’ll be your savior.” He’s totally cocky about it
He’ll mainly just chill with you, and he’ll probably go out and buy food instead of making it. He gets a little hiatus away from his dorm in turn of taking care of you so he’ll indulge a little himself
He’ll forget to give you medicine, so you better remind him about it, and you better make sure you remember too.
He will continue to bug you even while you’re sick, you get no breaks. He tries to get you to smile and just relax through jokes and teasing
He does really care, he’s just being the way he usually is…the Ace way
Deuce♠️:
Goes through all the stages of grief upon seeing you sickly in bed; thinks your dying because you looked so weak.
He’ll be sad, then mad you’re sick, then he’ll accept it and then start to help you out quickly. So much so it’ll be like an overbearing parent with a kid
He’ll pester you a lot, making sure you’re ok.
“You need anything else?” “You’ve asked this 4 times within the span of a minute-“
He’ll make you food, and he’ll try and remember the times you need to take medications, he’ll forget once or twice, but he’ll write it down on a sticky note for good measures. If you refuse to eat or drink anything he may freak out, scratch that, he will, he’ll think something is going wrong
He’ll stare at you with a pout like the entire time he’s there
He won’t care if you get anything on him. He’ll sit next to you on your bed and just watch you…a little creepy but eh. He just wants to make sure your ok and won’t die on him :(
Tumblr media
I love drabbles so much cause I can just yappppp. Also, the universe is on my side because they gifted me with a study hall in school so I have a little more free time. I SHALL POST MORE, ITS A MIRACLE. I’m taking refuge in the orchestra room cause I can’t stand the chorus rooms 💀
Master list
Please don’t steal or copy any of my work! You may, however, reblog if you’d want to!

☆// take care of you (MDNI, 18+)
Tumblr media
info! 141 + keegan + könig / fluff, established relationship (?) + gender neutral reader
cw! reader is sick (nothing gross at all, you're just not well)
prompt! you're ill and the boys insist on taking care of you
notes! thought i was dealing with some really gnarly allergies. went to urgent care and it turns out that i have an upper respiratory infection rip. so i'm writing this as copium, enjoy :]
Tumblr media
PRICE :
price is all over it the second you say something about not feeling 100%. only really worries about getting sick himself as an afterthought, then scraps the thought as a whole when he thinks about how whatever he's doing is making you feel better. cooks you chicken soup, makes sure you stay in bed, prepares tea for you and gathers stuff for you to do so that you don't get too bored while you're giving your body time to rest. if you're clingy when you're sick (like me), he's cuddling you. again, doesn't really care about getting sick until he has time to think about the risk afterwards.
GAZ :
kyle's mostly clingy, not completely sure of how to handle you being sick. you're a tank! you're not supposed to get sick. so when you say that you're feeling a little under the weather, he's kind of at a loss. he stays by your side the entire time that you're feeling sick, petting your hair and kissing your forehead. the likelihood of him getting sick is ridiculously high and he knows that, if he does, he'll probably get his ass kicked for it, but he figures that he can deal with it if it means that you're feeling even a little bit better. follows you around the house to make sure that you're okay. he'll even sit in the bathroom while you're taking a shower, rambling nonsense at you. if you ask him to go pick up something from the store for you or make you something to eat, he definitely will, it's just not his first thought when he sees you all uncomfortable like that.
SOAP :
this one has a much better idea of what to do when you're not feeling super well. even if it's just a cold or some really gnarly allergies, johnny would be the one to insist on taking you to the doctor just to make sure. he just worries a lot. but once you get out of that appointment, he drops you off at home and ushers you into the shower, making sure you have something nice and cozy to wear once you get out. while you're doing that, he'll run to the store to pick up whatever meds you were prescribed and anything else that might help -- tea, cough drops, soup, snacks. once he gets back, he gets you into bed and queues up all of your favorite movies, tv shows, and/or comfort videos (a little extra incentive to keep you in bed and resting). he'll stay in bed with you, waiting on your every need to try and get you back on your feet as soon as possible.
GHOST :
i feel like he gets a little bit awkward when you get sick. he views you very similarly to the way gaz does. you're indestructible in his eyes and it simply doesn't compute that you would be taken down for a week or so by something as simple as a bad cold. but he's on it once he gets over the what the hell is happening to them phase. it's maximum efficiency with this guy. along with having timers on his phone so that neither of you forget when to take your medicine, he's also making you try every reasonable home remedy to try to get you better as quickly as possible. makes you sit in a hot bath, brings you tea and soup, rubs vicks on the end of your nose to try and clear up your congestion. he almost has you on a schedule with all he's doing to try to get you feeling better. it's honestly really adorable how hard he's trying.
KEEGAN :
keegan doesn't really like giving you special treatment just because you're his partner, but he just can't stand to see how uncomfortable and in pain you are when you're sick. if you're in the same line of work as him and you're feeling a little too foggy to communicate with your superiors properly, he's down to track down your higher-ups and relay any messages for you. he's also pretty good at the soup and the tea and all of the home remedy stuff. kind of tries to take care of it at home, but if it's any worse than a cold he's dragging you straight to the doctor's office. another one that has you basically stuck to his side while he takes care of you. not ridiculously affectionate, but he will definitely let you hang all over him if that gives you any kind of comfort. will stay in bed with you while you lean against his side, hugging him around his middle as he plays with your hair and draws patterns into your skin. super adamant about making sure you rest.
KÖNIG :
like keegan but softer almost. you're usually pretty capable of sucking it up and getting through injuries and allergies and the like, so when some kind of illness gets you down, he worries. doesn't like the idea of forcing you to go to the doctor's so he tries his best to take care of it at home. leans pretty heavily on home remedies -- the good ol' fluids and rest regimen. buys you packs and packs of your favorite gatorade flavor and that chicken noodle soup mix that comes in the little envelope. keeps you in bed and has the wet rag on your forehead if he's worrying about you getting feverish. he doesn't like the idea of making you leave the house, so if it seems that bad he'll make you do one of those virtual urgent care visits. otherwise, your ass is staying in bed. he turns your whole bedroom into a recovery zone with vicks, tissue boxes, a lil snack tray set up on your bedside table, humidifier, all of your favorite movies. literally anything you could possibly need, he has it for you. mans is serious about making sure you get better.

SCTIR Translation - Chapter 399: Sunset (3)
[NOVEL SPOILERS] Story context: The cast was sent into a dungeon based on the pre-regression world. Pre-regression dungeon versions of the characters appear. Han Yoojin's leg was injured during his kidnapping in China. He met the dungeon version of Sung Hyunje in the preceding chapters and vowed to treat the real version well for 3 minutes the next time they met.
“I’m not the last…” Sung Hyunje uncharacteristically trailed off. His golden eyes widened slightly as they shifted between me and my pre-regression self. His habitual smile deepened, and he brought his gloved fingers to lightly touch his lips. Oh, great, he’s definitely intrigued. Let’s see, it’s 26 minutes past the hour now. “There are two Han Yoojins. I guess I can take one with me.”
Chapter translation under the cut.
---
[1:57:35 until sunset]
A message window appeared, kindly informing me of the remaining time. Since it was only visible to me, the others took out timers from their inventories to synchronize the time.
"Almost two hours—that’s plenty of time. Did they make the sun set slower on purpose?"
We had heard about there being a nice hotel in Gangnam. It took about ten minutes for us to reach Gangnam Station, clearing out weaker hunters along the way. With no traffic and no need to stop for signals, even riding the motorcycle at a leisurely pace got us there quickly. Traffic congestion really is the problem.
Whoosh—!
Water shot up from Exit 1 of Gangnam Station. This time it surged higher than ever before, forming massive letters in the sky.
[HERE!]
The letters inside were made of yellow ice, and the edges were mixed with blue and green, making the icy sign stand out. Yoon Yoon approached the sign and began covering it with glow-in-the-dark stickers from his pocket. The sky had grown quite dark, so the stickers emitted a faint glow.
Hunters from all over Seoul would be gathering here soon. We’d have to pick a hotel a bit farther away.
We walked to a nearby bus stop, and I sat down on the bench. My pre-regression self also sat down, placing the cake box on his lap, keeping a slight distance from me.
"Aren’t you hungry?" Yoohyun scanned the surroundings as he spoke. "Do you think there will be any ingredients left at the hotel? If there’s something you want to eat, I can go find a market since we have plenty of time."
"There’s a burger place over there," I replied.
"It’s cold, so wouldn’t something warm be better?"
My brother ignored my suggestion. What was wrong with burgers? Sure, they’re not the healthiest option, but they’ve got meat and vegetables. If you skip the fries and soda, they’re a relatively balanced meal.
"...Are you really making your little brother cook for you?"
The dungeon version of me looked at me as if I were a terrible person. Hey, I used to handle the cooking before Yoohyun left home—back then, he was still young. He’s still young now, but…
"Yoohyun wants to do it, okay?"
"He’s twenty, right? Even if he’s working, shouldn’t you be taking care of him until he at least graduates from college?"
"Of course, I do that the majority of the time!"
"I do it because I want to," Yoohyun interjected. "I like taking care of hyung."
At Yoohyun’s words, my pre-regression self fell silent. Then he glanced up at Yerim and Yoon Yoon, who were busy decorating the ice sign. Even though his build was buffer than mine, my other self’s figure bundled up in the padded black parka somehow looked small.
It must feel incredibly strange for him in many ways. And yet, he wouldn’t want to show any weakness. I was quite stubborn too.
"Still, from my perspective, Yoohyun, tomorrow is your birthday. Until tomorrow, um… I guess it would be okay. So…" my other self trailed off.
"That’s true. Hey, let’s stop by a mart and get some seaweed," I spoke lightly on purpose.
Yoohyun looked at me and my other self thoughtfully, then nodded.
"Alright. And hyung, things will be the same tomorrow too."
Despite the faint smile on his lips and in his eyes, Yoohyun’s voice was firm. No matter what happened, my little brother wouldn’t let go of either of us easily.
"Ajussi! Tons of Hunters are coming this way!"
Yerim shouted, waving her arms. She had been making a large ice bear. It was a bit misshapen, but I was pretty sure it was a teddy bear.
"Which direction?"
"Over there!"
As soon as Yerim pointed, Yoohyun moved. He dashed toward the front of the building in an instant and swiftly drew his sword. With his gained momentum, the blade sliced through the building as smoothly as flowing water.
Giiiiing─!
A sharp hum from the sword rang through the air, vibrating fiercely. A deep blue flame trailed the sword’s path, melting and corroding the lower part of the building in the direction he intended to bring it down. With a loud crash, the building began to tilt. Yoohyun spun around, swinging his sword again, which had now transformed into a flaming whip. The black blade battered the side of the building.
With a heavy groan, the massive structure leaned precariously to one side. Before the first building had even fully crumbled, Yoohyun was already moving toward another. He seemed intent on blocking the wide, eight-lane street with the debris.
By clearing away the tall buildings that blocked the view and using the rubble to block the alleys, it would make it easier to prevent any hunters from slipping past us.
"Hunter Park Yerim."
"Yep, it’s my turn this time, right? Yoon Yoon! Let’s go to the Ajussis."
It seemed like they were planning to deal with the hunters properly this time, rather than just tying them up like when we first arrived. That’s not the sort of task I would want Yerim to do, and Yoon Yoon disliked blood, so it would be better for Yoohyun to handle it. Still, it showed that Yoohyun cared about Yerim.
"Ajussi, you’re praising Han Yoohyun again in your head, aren’t you?"
Yerim flew over to me, narrowing her eyes suspiciously. How did she know?
"Not exactly. But Yerim, did something happen?"
"Yeah, actually." Yerim glanced at my pre-regression self, who was sitting beside her, then grinned widely. "I met the most amazing person in the world."
"Huh? An amazing person?"
"Yeah. So I might end up liking that person more than you, Ajussi. Is that okay?"
"Well, that’s up to you, Yerim.… But who is it?"
I was genuinely curious. Someone Yerim held in such high regard—was it perhaps Hyuna-ssi? Or maybe Soyoung-ssi, who was practically the Sesung Guild Leader at this point?
"Uh, it’s a bit embarrassing to tell you now, so I’ll tell you later."
"Embarrassing?"
"That’s just how it is sometimes!"
What on earth had happened? Yoon Yoon, beside her, was covering his mouth with both hands. So Yoon Yoon knew. I could easily coax it out of him, but that wouldn’t be right. I was curious, but I decided it was better to wait until Yerim told me herself.
But I was really curious. Who could it be? Hopefully, it wasn’t someone strange…
"Yerim, that ring is new, isn’t it?" I asked.
"I got it from that person!"
"What? You got a ring?"
Who is it, really?! Well, it was probably just an item, but still, who gave her a ring?! A ring—a pair of matching rings. Who had one? Rings, bracelets, and accessories like that were easy to hide, so people rarely showed them off. There was no benefit to revealing their effects to others. Maybe that’s why I couldn’t recall who might’ve had such an item.
"It’s just an item, right?"
"Yeah, it’s SS-Rank!"
Yerim proudly showed off her ringed hand. I nudged my pre-regression self, but he didn’t seem to know either.
"Oh, and I’m going to college," she added.
"Of course, you should."
"I’m going to study properly. Not just be a college student in name only, like my guild leader."
…Wow. Whoever influenced her must be truly amazing. To convince her, who once said there was no need for S-rank hunters to have good test scores, to voluntarily talk about studying? This person deserved the title of ‘Perfect Caregiver.’
Yerim mentioned she was thinking of studying architecture. Studying hard was definitely a good idea. You never know how the world might change, so having a backup plan aside from being a Hunter was a smart move.
In the meantime, the acrid smell of burning started wafting over from behind the collapsed buildings. Smoke rose into the sky, accompanied by faint screams. It was a battlefield. Though, dungeons always were.
"The others should be arriving soon."
They were late. Surely it wasn’t because this dungeon wasn’t limited to Seoul, or something, right? What if Noah had ended up in France? Director Song is from Seoul, but who knows about Sung Hyunje. Did he start in Seoul, or was he somewhere else before coming to Korea because he considered it a suitable base? What if he was off in some place like Italy right now?
"By the way, Ajussi! Peace can’t read letters, right? Probably…?"
"Peace didn’t come into the dungeon."
"Oh, that’s a relief."
"Misters Kim! What do you want to drink?"
Yoon Yoon, who had disappeared for a moment, returned with a vending machine he had ripped out. He seemed to enjoy taking whatever he wanted from places that had no owners. He shouldn’t do that outside, though.
"Ajussi, your hands look cold. Should I warm up a can of coffee for you?"
"Huh? I’m fine."
"Not you, the other Ajussi."
Oh, right. She meant my pre-regression self. Now that I looked at him, holding a cake box without gloves for so long had left his fingertips slightly pink. It wasn’t anything serious, though.
"I’m fine, too," my other self said.
"You’re not fine. Here, there’s some rice punch too."
Yerim pulled out a dagger and neatly sliced open the side of the vending machine. Then she created a large water orb. She dipped cans of coffee, rice punch, and honey water into the warm sphere of water. Meanwhile, Yoon Yoon was shaking up a can of soda and popping it open, spraying it everywhere. It’s not good to play with food.
"I’ll have coffee, please," I said.
"You’ll have honey water, Ajussi."
"No, I want coffee."
"It has ginseng in it too. Should I give you honey water too, Ajussi?" she asked my other self.
He quickly shook his head. "I’m healthy."
"No, you’re not. Yerim, give him honey water too. He always drinks instant coffee at home."
The real problem was the alcohol, but I didn’t want to mention that in front of Yerim. In the end, both versions of me ended up with honey water, each with a tiny bit of ginseng. I took off my gloves and wrapped my hands around the warm bottle. Sitting at a bus stop like this, it almost felt like we’d gone back to the time before the dungeons appeared.
"I used to buy hot drinks from vending machines on my way home from work sometimes."
"I’d fidget with it until it went cold."
"For a while, I hated taking the bus because it reminded me of my little brother. Even though I told him not to come pick me up in the winter so many times, he never listened."
"…Yeah, I remember that. It feels like ages ago."
Both of us unconsciously twisted off the bottle caps at the same time, took a sip, and grimaced. It tasted weird. We put the caps back on and just held the bottles to warm our hands again.
"Ah! Han Yoohyun! The ice is melting! My puppy!"
Yerim shouted as she flew into the air. Wasn’t it a teddy bear?
"I worked hard on that! It’s different from just letters… Huh? Ajussi, there are more Hunters coming this way! Should I go?"
"If they’re far away, leave them. Yoohyun will take care of it soon enough—"
Boom! A loud noise echoed. I quickly used the Drill Sergeant skill on Yerim. Her vision sharpened as a bright light flashed in the distance. Golden electricity leaped wildly across the black asphalt road, like crashing waves, scattering brilliant light everywhere.
Then, with a rushing sound, chains extended, wrapping around the streetlights on both sides of the road. The previously unlit lamps suddenly blazed with light before exploding with a loud bang. Even though the lamps weren’t working, the electric surge seemed to have amplified the power, causing an especially large explosion.
"I see someone has arrived."
I set the honey water bottle down on the bench and stood up. My past self also rose to his feet.
Seeing those chains in action meant it was the present-day Sung Hyunje, and it seemed there had been no serious problems. Yoohyun returned first, stepping over the collapsed building. Sung Hyunje followed behind. His eyes looked fine.
"I’m not the last…" Sung Hyunje uncharacteristically trailed off.
His golden eyes widened slightly as they shifted between me and my pre-regression self. His habitual smile deepened, and he brought his gloved fingers to lightly touch his lips. Oh, great, he’s definitely intrigued. Let’s see, it’s 26 minutes past the hour now.
"There are two Han Yoojins. I guess I can take one with me."
What the heck was he saying? But since three minutes hadn’t passed yet, I kept my thoughts to myself. Yoohyun moved behind us, ready to shield us at any moment.
"All of hyung belongs to me."
Yoohyun, what are you saying now?
"Yoohyun, you shouldn’t say things like that about people."
"But I belong to hyung too."
— ‘That’s right, Hyung! As they say, it’s ‘give and take’!’
Yilin said the last part in English. Where did you even learn that, Yilin?
"Of course, Han Yoohyun belongs to Han Yoojin. But I have a share in Han Yoojin too, don’t I? After all, we’re partners."
"Partners?" my pre-regression self muttered quietly.
Sung Hyunje’s words prompted Yerim to join in as well.
"Me too! You can have as many Han Yoohyuns as you want, Ajussi, but I also have a share in you! We’re in a guardian and ward, protector and protected relationship."
"Oh? Then me too! I’m contractually tied with Captain Kim!" Yoon Yoon chimed in.
The way they were talking made it sound like I was some kind of debtor. And the three minutes still hadn’t passed. These were the longest three minutes ever. So I smiled at Sung Hyunje.
"Really, Sung Hyunje-ssi. Of course, we’re business partners. Ah, this is the 29-year-old me. And this person here is my kind partner, Sung Hyunje-ssi. He’s the Sesung Guild Leader, as you well know."
My gentle and soft voice made Sung Hyunje, Yerim, Yoohyun, and even my pre-regression self give me a strange look.
"Hyung, are you sick? Did you get hit by some weird skill?"
"Ajussi, you’re the same one who was with us earlier, right? You didn’t just change into his clothes?"
"I’m fine. And yes, I’m the same. Sung Hyunje-ssi, you’re unharmed, right? Thank you for dealing with those other hunters. As always, you’re very reliable… Okay, three minutes are up."
Finally, I was free. I grabbed my other self’s arm and warned him.
"He’s dangerous, so be careful."
"…What?"
"I’m talking about the Sesung Guild Leader."
"I won’t deny that." Sung Hyunje smiled even more gently as he looked at me—both versions of me. "But my dear Han Yoojin-gun, if we make it out of here safely, won’t your other self need a place to stay?"
"We have an empty room at my place. And even more at Haeyeon Guild."
"That might be difficult." Sung Hyunje’s voice lowered. "The closer people are, the more they compare themselves to one another. Colleagues, relatives, friends, spouses, siblings. The more they interact and live in similar environments, the more they unconsciously measure who is better or worse. But if they’re the same person…"
…It wouldn’t just be about distinguishing between them; discrimination would inevitably arise, too. There was a clear difference between what my past self and I could do. Sung Hyunje was right; it would be a harsh environment for me.
Of course, we still didn’t know if we’d make it out safely. But he wasn’t wrong.
"So, are you saying you’d take care of my pre-regression self, Sung Hyunje-ssi? Be realistic. Right now, you’re interested because this is novel for you, but how long will that last?"
The connection to me was deep enough for strong emotions to be shared, so perhaps Sung Hyunje might really be sensing the me inside the dungeon. Naturally, he was intrigued. I pulled my past self closer, protectively. He wasn’t weaker than me, but he allowed himself to be pulled along.
"Don’t be fooled by that kind-looking face. The Sesung Guild Leader is notorious for losing interest after just a few months. There are countless victims."
"As you say, I can’t promise that my interest will last forever."
"There, see?"
"But I do promise that I won’t ever cease providing protection and more than adequate care."
"Why should I believe that?"
"For what it’s worth, I take pride in the trust my guild members place in me."
Well, that’s true. Suddenly, the image of the Sung Hyunje from the dungeon flashed through my mind. He had taken responsibility for his guild to the end. In whatever way he could.
"So, you’re saying you’ll take him into Sesung Guild."
"It seems like a mutually beneficial arrangement."
Since my other self was still technically me, joining Sesung Guild wouldn’t be a bad deal. It would strengthen the bond between Sesung and the breeding facility, and I could even be used as leverage if necessary. For my pre-regression self, it would be much better to adapt to a completely new environment rather than being thrust into the slightly familiar yet unfamiliar world of the breeding facility.
However…
"I decline."
It was my pre-regression self who spoke. Though he seemed nervous, avoiding direct eye contact with Sung Hyunje, his tone was resolute.
"I don’t understand why everyone insists that I need to be protected. I’ve always been able to take care of myself. I always will. The same goes for you. I’ll live my life as I see fit."
His final words were steady, without a hint of hesitation. That’s right, this is who I was. I’d unconsciously started to see my past self as weaker just because my own circumstances had improved. But I had always been like this.
And so, Sung Hyunje had now been rejected twice. But since both rejections came from the same person, what could he really do?

Streamer AU D/ick Gr/ay/son Sickfic
I am not bothering to // the rest of the fic. If it escapes snzblr, fine. I am too lazy for this shit. Anyway, here is Dick with a cold + OC Amelia because for me mentally doing character design if fun and using an OC means I get to make my own canon for her. Woo!
Prompt based on a combination of a prompt from @ Lyritha and a snzario from @mew31
CW: Mess, Cold Sneezes, Sneezed On, Coughing
If you need something else tagged/listed, please let me know. I am new to this! Anyway, have fun.
For more of Richard or for more DCU characters, tags for future writing will be Sick Grayson or DCU Flu (even if not specifically illness, just for my own organizing purposes).
Everyone loved Dick Grayson. Almost.
He bore all the qualities of a natural leader with his charismatic and friendly nature, boundless optimism, and infuriatingly good looks. Those on his team would say he was the only valid choice for raid leader in the party. A skilled tank player, a respected member of the community, a successful streamer. Perfect. Popular. Beloved by all.
All except one. One teammate who met him with disdain and hostility at every turn. One teammate who disregarded every olive branch extended to her. Nothing he said, nothing he did, made a difference. It reached the point of tension where his viewers started to ship them with one another, to the infuriation of his teammate. Her viewers merely seemed to think of him as a pest.
A lesser man would have let it be. Maybe he should have let it be. But Dick Grayson was not a quitter. And something about today felt different. He had been on a roll since he woke up, the day as smooth as silk from the moment his eyes opened to see the morning sun shining through his window.
NIGHTWING: Hey. Wanna do dailies? Just us. You can keep the loot.
His eyes followed the letters as he typed, watching his screen with a small flutter of trepidation.
He had no reason to be nervous, none at all. No sensible explanation for being so invested in just getting a response, any response. Most days, his DMs were ignored.
SUNKILLER: Busy tonight. Tomorrow?
NIGHTWING: “I have a 24hr charity livestream tomorrow. Offering to join me?”
SUNKILLER: Fine. What time?
His jaw nearly dropped as the words appeared on his screen. She agreed, readily? No sarcasm, no snark? Was she sick? Did she need money? Was the end of the world approaching and he just missed all the warning signs?
NIGHTWING: Starts at 2pm. Try not to be late!
It seemed better not to question it. If he asked if she was certain, it gave her the opportunity to change her mind or quip back with something like ‘of course not, dumbass, did you really think I’d join you?’ or some other hope shattering statement. Excitement had his heart racing. Perhaps he could trust his gut feeling. Perhaps this meant progress. Could he finally be winning her over?
Luck abandoned him the next morning.
The alarm clock roused him from his sleep. Blinking away the haze as he sat up, Dick groaned. His body ached, muscles heavy and unresponsive. A dull ache throbbed in the back of his throat with every swallow and mumbled complaint as he pushed himself out of his bed. He could feel congestion in the back of his nose, faint but present.
He had no time to be sick, not today. The twenty-four-hour charity livestream happened to be a big deal. After promoting it as much as he had to try and get as much interest as possible, wanting to blow the set donation goal out of the water, the last thing he wanted to do was call it off. Not only would it let his audience down, it would let the charity down. Plus, he’d finally gotten his raid teammate to agree to join him one on one for some game time.
He just had to not be sick.
So, he stuck to the plan and figured he could just ignore it. Banners and graphics galore decorated his setup, the timer to start the twenty-four-hour countdown in the corner just beneath his camera feed. A meter to track donations decorated a separate monitor. Chat started buzzing with excitement before he turned the camera on, watching his “Starting Soon!” screen with anticipation.
His post last night before bed about getting Sunkiller to join him broke his chat. The messages flooding the screen seemed torn between optimism and teasing.
REDRIDINHOOD [MOD]: Dude, are you sure she’s not just screwing with you?
LIGHTSHOW: This is awesome, Sun’s finally giving you the time of day! Shoot your shot, man!
SHARKNADO72: Nightwing is a masochist, confirmed? 24 hour enemies to lovers speedrun.
CYPHERPYSCHO: Romantic relations with one bearing the word ‘Killer’ in her name is ill-advised, Richard.
IC33POP: She’s so pretty! Ship it!
He turned his camera feed on with an eye roll at the comments section, just in time for Amelia to join the call. Clearing his throat in an attempt to sound normal and not like he spent the morning intermittently sniffling; Dick plastered his signature grin on his face.
“Ready to get started, Sun?” his voice came through a bit raspier than he would have liked, but his smile did not waver. “I was going to do a bunch of solo story games but since you’re here, I changed the line-up to some co-op games. Starting with It Takes Two.”
He could see her on the camera, her eyes shifting to the side to look at his video for a moment before returning to look at her primary screen. He watched her lip curl, getting a flash of teeth and the subtle sound of her clicking her tongue. She knew the game in question. A pointed choice of co-op game considering how his audience felt about his involvement with her.
“Let’s get going then. Try not to slow me down,” a teasing tone crept into her voice as she spoke. “You know how I feel about losing.”
Despite the way his nose felt plugged, and his throat ached, his excitement reigned supreme. It overshadowed the feeling of illness creeping through him, at first. As hours ticked by, he could no longer manage to hide it when he cleared his sore throat to try ridding himself of the hoarse, congested tone from his voice. His sniffles, increasingly pronounced, started garnering attention from the chat as thin streams of mucus dripped from his pink nose and glistened in the light. His nostrils flared, breath hitching as he turned his attention back to Amelia.
“Cad you – snrff. I need you to go to the other side of the gap and stay on the pressure plate, I think. Please?” he flashes a charming smile toward the camera, hoping to distract from how awful that sniffle sounded.
“Sure. Are you feeling okay, Nightwing?”
“Huh? Yeah, of course. I’b fide…Hh-hH–! NGKssHHHhuhw!!”
He lost control of the sneeze he wanted so badly to contain, his head diving into his elbow as he covered it. The crook of his elbow, now covered in a wet spray, stayed well below the view of the camera as he repositioned himself, a faint flush to his cheeks as he looked at his screens to gauge the reaction of both Amelia and his chat.
REDRIDINHOOD [MOD]: Get a tissue, dickwad, gross!
BLUDPR1NC355: Aww, bby, are you getting sick??
Apart from his brother, kind comments were flooding in, thousands of viewers blessing him or expressing concern for his wellbeing. Pointing out how pale he looked, how red his nose had gotten, or the constant sniffling he thought he had been subtle about.
Sheepishly glancing at Amelia’s video, he silently pleaded she would not be disgusted by him. Her in-game character jumped the gap and stood on the pressure plate just as he requested, but he noticed that she kept glancing at him. The way she stared, eyes narrowing every time he sniffled or fought back a sneeze. Though she made no comment on his health, her responses to him seemed a little softer.
After a few more hours of her ignoring his suffering and his chat fussing over his health, Dick could no longer breathe through his nose. His sneezes had only worsened, becoming wetter and more frequent. His body lurched towards the camera as a pathetic attempt at rubbing his nose only served to make everything ten times worse, causing his sneezes to tear through him.
“Hh…Heh'KSHht! —kSHh! H-hihh! Hih'KTCHh! Ugh…hh! HT’TSCHh! t’CHSHh!-’itschh!–ihHK’TSCh’uh!”
He ignored the chat for a moment, trying to catch his breath. He covered most of them, but there were still droplets of spray on the camera lens. Wiping them off with the hem of his sleeve, he reached for the tissue box he grabbed during their last bathroom break, only for his fingers to touch the cardboard bottom. Empty.
Through the haze of congestion in his head, and as he sniffled in a futile attempt to contain the flood of mucus dripping from his nose, he heard a little ping! Someone sent him a DM. Pinching his nose while he read it, he couldn’t stop the look of surprise from flashing across his face.
SUNKILLER: DM me your address and I’ll order you some soup. You are not okay.
NIGHTWING: I’m fine, really! Don’t worry about it.
The congested laugh of shock turned into a wet cough, betraying the lie instantly.
SUNKILLER: Liar. Hurry up.
NIGHTWING: Fine, fine. Here you go.
He sent her his address, smiling as he watched her on the camera. With nine hours out of the twenty-four-hour stream already out of the way, and there had been no hostility. One on one, it felt like the person on the other end of the call was a completely different person. He had her perspective of the stream up on another monitor, his eyes scanning her chat.
SP00KYGALZ [MOD]: Mel, what are you writing? I can hear your pen.
K1LLERQUEEN: He’s so pathetic looking today, it’s hot.
GOTHIKAT [MOD]: You’re plotting something. It never ends well when you do that.
SUNNY2881: The NightSun shippers are having a field day in his chat, girl.
LUCIFURR: Lol why wouldn’t they? Queen Mel is hot, he’s hot.
MAGNIFIQUE: You’re being so nice to him today! What happened? Pity party or do we like him now?
He nearly laughed, but a choked cough came out instead, prompting a fit of them as he covered his mouth and nose with his shirt. Watery eyes squeezed shut, shoulders trembling, and throat on fire, he continued to be distracted by his coughing until he heard the familiar ping of his DMs again.
SUNKILLER: You should just cancel. You sound awful.
NIGHTWING: The donations are going to help a lot of people. I can last fifteen more hours!
SUNKILLER: Then change of plans. You have an extra controller at your place?
NIGHTWING: Yeah, why? Coming over?
SUNKILLER: Yes. You won’t cancel the stream? Fine. We can keep playing this game on your couch. Deal?
NIGHTWING: Sure. Come by whenever.
The words he typed came out so casually, but his heartbeat almost stalled. Her chat was right. She was being a lot nicer to him. He barely registered her voice on the stream again, Amelia announcing that the stream would be switching gears and that they were going to continue the game on his couch after she picked up some things for him. Both chats exploded into a frenzy of activity, but Dick was too busy trying to be discreet about wiping his nose on his sleeve to notice.
“Hh… h'ngtchh! Eberyode, I’b deed a few to mbove by setup,” he set his stream to the break screen as he glanced blearily back at Amelia’s stream on the monitor, standing up to start moving the lights and the cameras over to his couch and TV before prepping the game on the console.
The scenery around Amelia kept moving and the video quality changed, showing glimpses of her actions. Snippets of her apartment. A streak of black as she tugged on some shoes. The sound of an engine starting up. Her viewers must be looking through her helmet camera, for the motorcycle videos she sometimes made. The camera only showed her dashboard and a snippet of road as she drove. Luckily for him, she kept the commentary going on his behalf until she walked into… a grocery store?
“Abelia, whadt are you doing?” he unmuted the microphone, leaning in as his voice came out as little more than a congested croak.
“Picking you up some things, like I said. What do you need, Richard? More tissues, cough drops? Soup?”
“Uhhg, mbore tissues. Mbedicide. I’ll take adythihgg,” he must have missed it when she told the stream she was going to get things at the store for him, but at this point he certainly couldn’t say no.
Picking up various products off the shelves, Amelia took the time to show Dick each item and let him choose what he wanted. As the number of things in her grocery basket grew, so did the number of comments on the stream about their situation. Things like ‘how domestic!’ or ‘I feel like I’m intruding lol’ peppered the chat. Not wanting her to get annoyed by how intent the viewers had become on trying to label their relationship, not after he only just got her to drop some of her walls around him, Dick hurried to finish moving his streaming setup.
It took her twenty minutes to get to his house. He knew they lived in the same city, but never expected anything would come of it. Until now, with Amelia standing in his living room as he hunkered down on the couch. Blowing his nose with a fresh tissue from the box she purchased, he could not tear his eyes away as she flitted around his apartment like some sort of fairy godmother. She put a thermos of soup on the coffee table for him along with a bottle of DayQuil and some tea, oranges for snacking on, several boxes of tissues, a bag of cough drops, and even some extra blankets.
“Alright. Let’s do this,” she picked up his spare controller, settling in on the couch right beside him.
Part of him expected her to sit further away. She needed to be close enough to stay within frame of the camera, but their shoulders were touching. Closer than necessary. The warmth of her arm against him, seeping through the fabric of his shirt, was tantalizing. He could only offer a nod, picking up his own controller and resuming the game.
The DayQuil helped… marginally. Not as much as Dick hoped it would.
“Ih'shiuhh! Ih’TSHh! ItcSHsSHew!” The sneezes filled his tissue, a grimace on his face as he threw it away only to realize it had leaked through onto his hand.
Groaning and wiping his hand clean with another tissue, he leaned further back against the couch. His body slumped to the side slightly, seeking the warm presence of the woman beside him. He felt her shift, inching closer to him as if understanding what he needed.
“Hey, Richard? Can I hijack your stream for a little while?” her tone lacked all of the sarcasm it usually held, with her carefully taking the controller out of his hands and setting it down on the coffee table. “Maybe we can do a Q&A.”
“Huh? Sure, I’bm dowd. Ng'TCHht!”
An attempt was made to stifle his sneeze against her shoulder without Dick realizing what he had done. More followed suit.
“Heh'ESHHuh! Heh'KSHihh! Ugh…”
Afterward, sniffling and blowing his nose into a tissue after he pulled away from her, he noticed the prominent smear of his mucus that remained wet against the fabric of her jacket.
“I'b sorry Abelia, I didd't mbead to. Hold od,” he mumbles, getting up without giving her any time to protest.
He disappeared down the hallway into his room, rummaging in his dresser. Harsh coughs left him breathless and unsteady as he made his way back toward the couch, holding one of his hoodies in his hand. Setting it down in Amelia’s lap, he offered what he hoped looked like a confident smile.
“You should borrow this, sidce I god yours dirty.”
“Thank you, Ri—Dick,” she corrected herself while taking off her soiled jacket, using his nickname for the first time since they met.
Tugging the hoodie over her head, she folded her jacket and set it down on the floor before shifting closer to him yet again. She invited the viewers to start submitting questions for the Q&A portion of the stream while tugging a blanket over the two of them, her arm wrapping around his waist underneath it. A startled look flashed across his face, but he felt too awful to question it. He pressed himself into her side, resting his head against her shoulder.
“Questiod twedty. Why were the two of you always arguigg?” Dick read aloud, after blowing his nose for the umpteenth time, only to stare at Amelia expectantly.
“Oh. That. That was my fault. He just seemed too enthusiastic all the time, I thought he was faking it. It made me feel guilty for not always being in a good mood. Wondering why I couldn’t just be more like him, why did I have to let things get to me? So, I got frustrated. But he really is just that kind of person, and it is hard to stay mad when he’s just trying to be friendly. Besides… now I know he isn’t flawless all the time. He really is human,” she laughed, but it sounded somewhat forced and her tone was… apologetic. “I’m sorry, Dick. For being difficult.”
“You dod't have to aAhh- hahh…Heh'ESHHuh! Apologize,” he buried his face against her side, a soft moan escaping him as his sniffling did nothing to staunch the flow of mucus. “I already forgave you.”
The viewer’s questions felt endless as he leaned firmly against Amelia, her arms wrapped around him almost protectively. The heat of her body against him felt warm and comforting, soothing the chill that plagued him. The stream would be over soon. He only needed to make it for a few more minutes. His body, however, had other plans.
“Hhht’khschh! Hh…Heh'KSHht! Ngh…” the sneezes refused to abate as Dick shuddered in Amelia’s arms, her hand coming to hold a tissue against his nose for him.
She held him a bit tighter, one hand firmly grasping the tissue and the other rubbing his back. His own hands gripped the blanket as if hanging on for dear life, his entire body shaking against hers with each wet sneeze. The chat, the cameras, the stream… it faded into the background, Amelia focused solely on him. When he caught his breath, she tilted his chin up to get a good look at him.
Dick gazed back at her through watery eyes, tears smeared across his cheeks. He felt her thumb brush over his skin, wiping away a few. Her palm cupped his face, and he leaned into the soft touch, bringing his own up to tuck a loose section of hair behind her ear.
“Are you alright?” came the hushed whisper as Amelia leaned in closer to him, resting her forehead against his and feeling the warmth radiating off of him.
“Doh, but it’s fide.”
She studied him, watching his chest rise and fall with each congested breath. His lips stayed parted; Dick unable to breathe through his nose at all. A smile still played upon them, but his eyes seemed unfocused, roaming around her face and yet always settling back on her mouth.
“Do you… want me to kiss you?” she murmured, letting a finger trace his lips.
“God, yes,” he breathed, eyes fluttering closed when she moved closer to him.
A quiet groan rumbled from his throat the moment he felt her soft lips press against his, leaning into it as one hand tangled in her hair. The world around him melted away, letting him forget for just a moment how awful he truly felt.
Until chat exploded.
Banners and sound effects created a cacophony in the room, snapping the two out of the moment they so nearly lost themselves in. Comments flooded in at breakneck speeds, the text moving up the screen too quickly for Dick to process a single word said. But Amelia just pulled him closer, kissing him again while her fingers pressed the power button on the camera.
Stream Disconnected. Twenty-four-hours complete.
~ Bonus ~
The door opened near silently, Jason’s steps filled with the intent not to disturb. He missed the end of the stream due to work matters, leaving a different sibling to take over moderator duties (thanks, Tim). Now, he merely wanted to confirm his older brother didn’t collapse on the floor or miraculously die in the night.
But he heard about what happened. Anyone who followed Dick or Amelia’s socials knew what happened.
Unable to help the smirk stuck to his face, even with no one around to see it, Jason made his way to the living room. The cameras were off, but had not been put away. Blankets lay strewn over the back of the couch, and there was a small trash next to a tied off bag of used tissues. Someone had emptied it but not taken the bag down to the dumpsters yet. Nonetheless, the fact Dick was not passed out on the living room floor or asleep on the couch seemed to be a good sign.
He made his way down the hall, the sounds of congested snoring growing louder as he approached Dick’s bedroom. The door, left open, did nothing to muffle the sound. Pressing onward out of a mixture of curiosity and the desire to be able to tease his brother, Jason peered into the bedroom.
Out cold on his back with his limbs splayed like some undignified starfish, Dick’s head lolled sideways, his face partially buried in the curtain of Amelia’s dark hair. His mouth hung open, drooling in the depth of his sleep. His nose, redder than the night before, pressed against the top of Amelia’s head as it oozed, coating the strands of her hair.
Gross.
Her face stayed buried in the crook of his neck, her arm draped over chest. She wore the hoodie Dick let her borrow during the stream, along with… ah, yes – Dick’s boxers.
It took a great deal of self-control for Jason not to laugh at the absurdity of it. Instead, he chose to preserve this moment… and give him something to harass Dick about when his brother woke up. Silently, he snapped a photo of the two of them together and left, texting the image to Dick without another word.

I'm so sorry, I'm kinda drunk and dropping another idea, do with it whatever ye will.
Yknow how in the beginning of the game, Sojiro tells Ren he won't take care of him when he gets sick?
Consider: he's not used to city germs/being that closely shoved against other people on the train. He DOES start to get sick around Kamoshida's Palace, powers through it, and then is SUPER sick just after it's over.
He plans on sucking it up and hiding it, but Futaba hears his hacking coughs over her bug even when he's upstairs, followed by wheezing, maybe even a little weeping. He's constantly in and out of the bathroom, and he's starting to run out of tissues.
Futaba nervously texts Sojiro that the kid they took in sounds awful. Sojiro is gruff at first and says he's not a baby, he can take care of himself. She responds by sending him the audio and suddenly Dad Instincts kick in
y/n
obviously it's a YES, our brainrots continue because early-game ren and sojiro dynamics break my heart every time how dare you get me so invested in this idea, this post got too long so it's going under a read more
listen listen look i love sojiro and the coffee family okay, but early-game?? sojiro could catch these hands
ren has already been though so much by the time he arrives in tokyo, to then be put into a dusty old attic like a spare part would absolutely fit in with ren's own perception of himself at that stage. it would be almost too easy for him to put his own health on the backburner kinda like he's already used to it
very used to not taking up space, 'not being a bother', and then sojiro really reinforces this message when ren first gets to leblanc- so when ren inevitably gets ill a month into his probation, it's already doomed for maladaption
tokyo would be such a breeding ground for sickness compared to the countryside, and ren just doesn't have the consitution to deal with it. the dusty attic and poor eating habits don't help matters, and then we have the stress of kamoshida and the metaverse?? ren is not having a Good Time™
at first it's something he thinks he can shrug off, and is adamant that ignoring it is the way to go. a cold, it's nothing, he can handle this alone, no need to bother anyone else with it.
inevitably, he gets worse, because that's what happens when you don't rest and let yourself recover. a tickly cough becomes a tightness in his chest, mild congestion shifts into an attack on his senses and blurriness- but maybe that's the dizziness. he's not really sleeping, either.
it's something that's becoming increasingly difficult to brush off and hide, he even relented to finally getting some medicine (nothing as strong as he needs by this point, that would eat too much into his limited funds, but some painkillers to take the edge off). once or twice he's tempted to stay off school, at morgana's insistence, or a too close call where he definitely blacked out for a minute, but then sojiro's voice will ring in his head 'i won't be the one looking after you if you get sick', 'your parents got rid of you for being a pain in the ass', and all his worst insecurities come rushing back and he's resolved to deal with it on his own
meanwhile, futaba's been making use of her hidden audio bugs- normally they're a comfort for her in the daytime, but since the new kid- ren- has been staying at the cafe (part-timer her ass, how gullible does sojiro think she is?!), she's been listening more frequently. when ren gets sick, she figures it out quickly.
time goes on, he's not getting better- he's actually getting worse- and futaba starts to wonder if she's the only one who knows
(there's something in his sharp contrasts- the quiet kid who shuffles through the cafe and takes sojiro's scolding, to the coughing kid who cries into the silence of night when he thinks there's nobody there to see it- that stabs through her numbness. it feels like a companion to her own ghost)
one night she swears the kid gets up to be sick, and there's hardly any sound heard from the attic all night. if nobody's gonna help ren, then she will (futaba used to like helping, once upon a time).
she texts sojiro the next day, when ren doesn't say anything again, and goes off to school with what she bets is a fake assurance on his face
and you're so right, sojiro dismisses her concern really easily, claims the kid can 'take care of himself' and he won't 'baby' the part-timer. insists ren needs to learn some disipline, then maybe he'll stay out of trouble
frustration wells in futaba- if she was less fixated on what was going on with ren, she'd register it's one of the first changes of mood she's had for months- and she responds with nothing but an audio clip, an attached explanation that this is just from the past few days- it's been going on for weeks, then she waits, and hears the distant sound of her compilation through one of the bugs, a hitched breath from sojiro, curse words under his breath-
for all his earlier postulating about not helping ren if he gets sick, sojiro is immeditely struck with a pang of concern- it sounded bad, and if futaba's words were anything to go by, this had been going on for a while. the kid's at school now (at school, being as ill as that and he was still going to class-), so sojiro will talk to him when he gets back. there's a chance he goes a bit too over the top, between the variation of medicines he purchases, supplies he grabbed from home- if you accused him for over-compensating after maybe being too harsh on the kid in the beginning, you'd be right
and you just know ren would be so resistent at first to help, or even just the offer of staying off school. in his sickness-induced fugue, ren's filter-less in rattling off how he can't stay off, what will the students and teachers think, and he has work that afternoon, and a test soon, and he doesn't want to get in the way-
sojiro's heart just shatters
this kid, whose been silently carring the weight of the world and has apparently been falling to pieces for weeks now and sojiro didn't even notice?
(a part of it reminds him too much of the other kid he's got at home, the countless ways he's already failed futaba, and now ren too? he feels useless)
sojiro focuses on what he can do, and that's making the kid rest. work will understand, school can wait, ren isn't an inconvenience, he guides the kid to bed, calls takemi immediately (who rushes over, despite the fact she's technically closed at this hour, and refuses to take any payment),
even still, there's this stilted awkwardness between them when the quiet pushes on too long- they hardly know each other, afterall. sojiro is still figuring out the 'caring for kids' thing, and ren isn't familiar with any kind of parental affection, so some of sojiro's care veers a bit too close to clinical or mechanic, and ren still struggles to communicate what kind of help he needs, but it's enough for now.
for now, sojiro is there. he's trying, and at least ren's getting some colour back on his skin. for now, ren's willing to take a few days off and have some medicine, but he's over-apologetic and definitely tries to make up for his sickness once he's healed. it's gonna take them both a while yet, but luckily there's always their guardian hacker, ready and able to call them out when needed (and maybe some day she'll be able to keep an eye on ren and sojiro in person)

Hmmm 5. Feels like it might fit nicely within your pneumonia!buck thread (if it inspires! If not, what ever does!)
5. help part one part two part three
When Eddie wakes up to banging in the kitchen, he spares a brief moment to wonder if he’s being robbed. Then he hears the unmistakable sound of something being dropped, following by a quiet curse, and a smile spreads across his face.
Turning his head to the side, he sees that Buck is still dead to the world. His mouth is hanging open, a wet patch of drool on the pillow, and he’s snoring away. The snores are a little deeper and more congested than usual, but when Eddie carefully feels Buck’s forehead, he finds his temperature at an acceptable level. Deciding to let Buck sleep a little longer, Eddie eases himself out of bed. When he pads into the kitchen, rubbing sleep from his eyes, he’s only a little surprised at what he finds there.
“What’re you guys doing here?” he asks around a yawn.
Bobby freezes mid-way through putting a casserole dish in the oven. Chim continues cleaning up the frozen hashbrowns that are littering the floor, and Maddie presses a mug of coffee into Eddie’s hands.
“You didn’t really think we were going to let you fend for yourselves this morning, did you?” Maddie asks.
Honestly, Eddie had been resigned to ordering takeout and then dragging himself to the grocery store later so he could pick up ingredients for healthy meals to help Buck recover. But, as he surveys his kitchen countertops and notices the grocery bags in various states of being unloaded into his kitchen, he feels his throat constrict.
“You didn’t have to do this,” he says, audibly choked up.
Bobby sets the timer on the oven and comes over to clap him on the shoulder. “Yes, we did,” he says.
Chim springs to his feet. “It’s okay to ask for help, man.”

Self care when your sick I'm always wanting to stay in bed, so I set a timer when I wake up. In that one hour I will be doing something productive. You can write in a journal but personally, right now I am writing on my blog about what I can do throughout the day to feel better. I made a tea, I suggest adding honey to it as well for congestion. After writing what your plan is to feel better, do these things like a top priority. My plan to feel better : I will drink tea throughout the day with honey, and I will take a vitamin D, and magnesium. ( Take vitamin B12, D, and C if you have it ) Next I will be stretching my body. Take a pain reliever for a headache or body pain too. I will now use my ice roller on my face, and wash my face with hot water. For breakfast have some fruit and ice cold water. Go outside. You need some sun and you will feel alot better. For lunch have some more fruit or soup and have another tea. Stay active throughout the day. You need to. I hope this helps <3

3 minutes into the 15 minute timer 😑
I had a sinking suspicion when I lost my sense of taste and smell.
Other than that and a little congestion I feel fine now.

I used to work in daycare, and helped care for all ages. In daycare there are certain regulations, and kids have to be treated certain ways within them such as punishment being disallowed.
Re: teething
A small water bottle from the fridge is a lovely teething toy if you don’t have money for fancy ones or time to sanitize them between uses. You can also put ‘em in the freezer for a few minutes if your kiddo is in a lot of pain
Similarly, a clean sponge saturated with water and placed in a fresh plastic baggie, stuck in the freezer? Makes a really good teething toy and ice pack with minimal mess/cleanup.
Re: Illness
Daycare doesn’t allow you to leave your kid there if they’re ill, especially babies but also toddlers and older. Please. Don’t leave your kid at a daycare when they are sick. The daycare will be calling you. And they will continue to do so until you send someone to come get your kid. Allergies and congestion are fine, but if your kid is so tired/feel so icky they won’t want to do any activities or if they have a fever, they cannot stay. Please save yourself the trouble and ask someone to watch them for the day, or call off work.
Give your kids medicines I’m begging you. Follow dosing directions. Ask your mom. Ask your doctor. But PLEASE - do not let your baby’s illnesses go untreated. It will not improve their immune systems. It will not make them stronger. Medicine, especially for colds and other illnesses that aren’t curable and must just be recovered from, are what’s called ‘supportive care’ which means they are allowing the sick kid to sleep easier and be less miserable when awake - something that is important for their recovery. I understand not wanting to over-medicate your kids, and by all means be careful. But don’t let them suffer, either, yea? Kids need sleep, they need to be able to breathe as easily as possible. Waking up fifty times a night to cough until they puke isn’t helpful.
Re: Behaviour
Your kid is going to piss you off. Please remember that they’re learning to be a person from scratch, and they’re only doing the things that annoy you because they’re figuring out how the world works. Take a deep breath, pick up their cup for the fifth time, and remember you’ve been alive for over a decade, and for them it’s only been a few days or months.
When they get older, about 1.5 years, discuss with your partner how you want to correct bad behavior. I urge you not to use hitting or screaming. At 1.5 most kids can grasp the basics of what you mean when you tell them no, and can handle basic explanation. Choose your method and stay consistent. If you want to give 3 warnings, always follow with consequences after those warnings are met. I recommend cool-down time, removal from the situation, and redirection. All work very well.
Re: care
Diapers should be checked every two hours or so, or whenever you notice they’re wet. You need so many diapers. Checking diapers often helps reduce the chance of urine burns and diaper rash, and 2 hours is a pretty good baseline for how long it usually takes for a diaper to be dirty. If you struggle to remember, setting a timer on your phone for every 2 hours should help.
If your baby’s having tummy troubles or is struggling to poop, you can try laying them belly-down along your forearm. It helps them clench those muscles easier, and works out gas. Plus, sometimes they just like being held that way.
That’s all I can think of right now, good luck 🫡
seeing a lot of videos that are like “I didn’t know babies couldn’t have water” so here’s an incomplete list of things you need to know before having a baby
- the obvious, they can’t have water bc milk is incredibly high in water already so excess water leads to over hydration
- babies cannot have honey until 1
- if ur breastfeeding your kid and saving excess milk, make sure you label what you pumped in the morning vs at night bc your body produces different melatonin levels throughout the day and giving your baby daytime milk at night can make them more alert and fuck up their sleep schedule
- idk why ppl keep saying this but swaddling your babies or getting them those baby straight jacket things is not abuse. It chills them out cuz it reminds them of the womb
- babies have a dandruff like buildup on their head called cradle cap, and it’s very easy to deal with and remove with just some baby shampoo, a gentle scrub brush (MADE FOR BABIES!!) and a comb. It does need to be removed tho cuz it can be very painful after a while. This can also continue to happen late into toddlerhood it’s normal
- you have to clean out the creases of your baby’s skin and hands and feet they WILL collect dust😭😭
- you cannot bathe your baby until their umbilical cord naturally falls off. Use a warm damp rag until then
- tummy time is actually very important
- your baby might have a misshapen head at first (not all the time but sometimes) this will either sort itself out or they’ll need a corrective helmet ask your doctor
- I wouldn’t recommend having your baby leave the house very much until they’re at least 6 months old, especially if they’re born near cold and flu season cuz the common cold can kill a newborn
- you’re not an awful horrible person for having postpartum depression and it’s always a million times better to let your baby cry a few minutes longer than normal while you regain your composure than to freak out and give ur kid shaken baby syndrome
- you’re not an awful horrible person for giving your baby formula milk either
- don’t put shoes on your baby it’ll compromise their toe box and balance
- babies put every single thing in their mouths
- the easiest way to burp a baby is to hold them straight up (spine straight) and hold their head a bit higher
- always support their head they barely have necks
- if your baby fights away food, fights tummy time, vomits every single time you burp them, is gaining or losing an unreasonable amount of weight at a time, wheezes after eating, or goes red after eating, chances are they’re probably allergic to the type of milk they’re eating (again ask a doctor but these are just some signs it’s not just colic)
- they will wobble a lot when learning to do things but you gotta fight the urge to help them every single time cuz they gotta learn
- they’re not always spitting out baby food cuz they don’t like it they just don’t know how to eat. Like they don’t know how to push food down they only know how to stick their tongue out so be patient
- babies craniums are broken up into three parts at first that later fuse together, this is to help make birthing easier but it results in a small EXTREMELY sensitive spot in the top of their head that has no protection. This puts their brain at a high risk. Always protect their soft spot
- read to your baby!! Get cute bright colorful sensory books with sight words and read them to your baby it makes such a huge difference in their educational growth and will help them acquire a love for reading early on. And talk to them never shut up just say whatever comes to mind all the time this will strengthen their vocabulary growth also.
- babies poop like a lot. A lot. an unreasonable amount. Bring back up clothes and more diapers than you think
- no pillows or stuffies in the crib and only use a muslin blanket unless it’s especially cold to prevent suffocation
- babies kick reflexively until they’re out of their newborn scrunch (they stay womb shaped for a while) and if your baby is crying and pushing at the swaddle try letting them flail around for a minute
- consoling your baby is not spoiling them ! They need comfort and they will learn to self soothe on their own
- singing lullabies actually works, they can recognize your voice a consistent place of comfort from the womb and the cadence of lullabies is literally engineered to create a calm headspace
- for the love of god do not get boring ass beige toys. Colors are important for their neurological development
- babies are very responsive to praise from a young age so be as supportive of them as you can
- babies get constipated a lot and you have to do like tummy massages to help ease their pain the easiest way is to lay them on their backs and hold one foot in each hand, kick their feet like bicycles, scrunch up, and then stretch their legs out
- holding them on your hip too much will not cause bow legged-ness if your baby is bow legged that was always gonna happen
- they drool so so much and you have to get bibs for them so they don’t get chest eczema
- don’t use scented products on their skin cuz their skin is sooo much thinner than ours
- when your baby first starts sitting on their own never walk away from them without setting up a nest of pillows and blankets around them. Even minor head trauma can mess them up sometimes
- this one is kinda morbid and scary but sometimes babies just die out of nowhere and it’s no one’s fault or anything it’s called sudden infantile death syndrome(SIDS) and it’s about 1.3k deaths on average per year in America so not super common but still very real. 90% of these deaths happen during the first four months however edit: apparently it’s bc of an enzyme deficiency which at the very least you can take steps to try and prevent
- smoking and drinking during pregnancy WILL affect your baby and your breast milk and also might contribute to SIDS cases
- babies sometimes have a big red mark on them somewhere called a stork bite immediately after birth but typically it goes away
- babies can’t see very well for a while after birth and they’re VERY wobbly so they’ll typically bonk their head into your chest and face a lot while trying to support themselves
- female babies might have smth similar to a period the first few days after birth, this is because of the hormone transfer that happens during the birthing process and the days leading up to it
- male babies get random erections for the first few days after birth(hormone transfer again) literally do not be weird about this it’s a baby
- things like weaning your baby onto solid foods, potty training, weaning off pacifiers etc, can actually be directed by the baby and will happen naturally will minimal guidance from the parent(some guidance is still necessary) although I would do individual research into baby led weaning for food to prevent choking
- get those chewy feeding pouches to help with weaning
- the most random things will scare the hell out of your baby don’t take it personal 😭
- baby carriers are life savers (tulas are one of my favorites)
- once babies hit toddlerhood they’re tougher than you think, and a lot of their reaction is based on YOURS. they’re always going to be looking to you for how to react to a situation. Remain calm and if they’re ok they’ll calm down but if they’re genuinely hurt they’ll keep crying
- babies will most likely get ridiculously attached to an inanimate object and you have to keep this thing intact at all costs until they’re old enough to abandon it or they will throw a FIT. I got a lemur plushie from a zoo once and every single one of the kids has bonded their soul with it until about 6 years old and once a month I have to stitch him back up
- don’t compare yourself to other parents. Maybe your kid isnt getting grass fed wild caught north Atlantic cheerios but at least they’re fed. If your kid is alive and healthy and happy you’re doing a good job
- you will need 3 car seats, an infant seat, a grow with me toddler seat, and a booster seat
- getting a good diaper bag is a MUST
- the hair a baby is born with will most likely all fall out or they’ll get a bald spot on the back of their head where they sleep cuz their hair is so fragile and thin but once it grows back it grows back thick
- get like 20 muslin blankets so you always have a backup when the main ones are covered in spit up
- the babies grip IS stronger than yours (keep your hair up and keep pets away best you can)
- your best bet for your teething baby is a pacifier you can put your finger in so you can massage their gums and some chewing toys numbing cream can be dangerous and should be used sparingly
- go ahead and come to terms with the fact you’re gonna have to use a Frida Baby to manually remove snot
- babies can get hair and thread wrapped around their toes and fingers that can cut off their circulation try to make a habit of checking
- don’t hit your kid please it’s nothing but trauma and fucked up coping mechanisms from there pls empathize with your child they’re a person too
- be careful not to pull too hard on their arms and legs(like during play or holding their hand while they walk) and NEVER pick them up by their hands this will very easily cause dislocation
- they might have a little tooth like callous on their lip from their pacifier. This does not hurt them and it will go away but it may hurt during breastfeeding
- breastfeeding will make your boobs different sizes
Yeag that’s all I can think of rn but yk i Will add as I remember stuff ppl are also adding things I forgot in the tags in case you’d like to look thru that as well <3

In this blog, we’ll explore how AI-powered solutions are revolutionizing urban traffic, making cities smarter, safer, and more sustainable.
The Urban Traffic Conundrum
Cities worldwide face common issues: congestion, pollution, road accidents, and delays in emergency response. Congestion alone results in billions of dollars lost annually due to wasted fuel and time. It also leads to increased emissions that degrade air quality. Meanwhile, unpredictable accidents or breakdowns can cause massive bottlenecks that ripple through the network, affecting not only the immediate area but also distant parts of the city.
Traditional traffic signals, set on fixed timers or simple sensor triggers, lack the agility to respond to real-time changes in traffic flow. This inefficiency is a major hurdle in urban mobility.
Enter the AI-Based Traffic Management System
Unlike conventional methods, an ai-based traffic management system leverages advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), computer vision, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices to actively monitor and optimize traffic flow in real-time. These systems do more than just count vehicles, they analyze patterns, predict congestion, and dynamically adjust controls to ensure smooth movement.
Key Technologies Driving Intelligent Traffic Management
Computer Vision & Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR): Cameras combined with AI detect vehicle numbers, classify vehicle types, and monitor traffic violations.
Automatic Traffic Counting and Classification (ATCC): These systems collect data on different vehicle types (cars, trucks, two-wheelers) helping city planners understand traffic composition.
Real-Time Incident Detection: AI-powered video analysis detects stalled vehicles, accidents, and obstacles immediately, alerting control centers to respond quickly.
Adaptive Signal Control: Traffic lights adjust timings on-the-fly based on actual traffic conditions, preventing unnecessary waits and bottlenecks.
Vehicle Speed Detection: Speed cameras integrated with AI detect speeding vehicles and automate violation enforcement.
By combining these technologies, an intelligent traffic management system creates a comprehensive, real-time overview of urban traffic conditions, enabling proactive rather than reactive control.
Real-World Benefits of AI Traffic Management
1. Drastically Reduced Congestion AI systems analyze traffic density and optimize signal phases to maximize throughput. Cities like Singapore and Barcelona report congestion reductions up to 30% after implementing AI traffic solutions.
2. Improved Road Safety AI-based detection of violations such as speeding, wrong lane use, and no helmet usage helps enforce traffic laws rigorously, lowering accident rates.
3. Enhanced Emergency Response AI-enabled systems detect incidents instantly and can prioritize emergency vehicle movement by adjusting traffic signals, reducing response times significantly.
4. Environmental Impact Smoother traffic flow means fewer idle vehicles, which directly reduces fuel consumption and harmful emissions, supporting smart city sustainability goals.

What Makes an AI Based Traffic Management System Different?
An AI Based Traffic Management System is more than just a collection of traffic lights and cameras. It’s a smart, interconnected solution that uses artificial intelligence to make real-time decisions for smoother, safer, and more efficient traffic flow.
Traditional systems operate on fixed timers or manual inputs. In contrast, an AI based traffic management system analyzes live data, learns from patterns, and adapts to changing conditions instantly. It leverages tools like machine learning, computer vision, and sensor networks to monitor vehicle movement, detect congestion, and even predict future traffic scenarios.
Instead of simply reacting to traffic, the system proactively manages it, making decisions like adjusting signal timing, rerouting vehicles, or prioritizing emergency services all without human intervention.
This intelligent, data-driven approach is what sets an AI Based Traffic Management System apart from older, static methods. It's not just about controlling traffic; it's about optimizing urban mobility in real time.

Dedric Joseph Robinson Shares 5 Trends on How AI Is Changing Transport
Tumblr media
Dedric Joseph Robinson is the founder of Moxion. He builds travel solutions that reduce stress and improve how people move from place to place. At Moxion, he looks at how people travel—not just where they go, but how they feel getting there. Dedric Joseph Robinson's goal is to make transport smarter, safer, and better for everyone. AI is playing a big part in that goal.
If you're in transport, logistics, tech, or just care about how we all move, these are five trends Dedric Joseph Robinson sees shaping the road ahead.
1. Smarter Traffic Flow Reduces Delays
You’ve likely sat in traffic that felt avoidable. AI can fix that. Cities are starting to use AI-powered traffic lights that adapt in real-time. These systems learn from patterns.
They react to road conditions, weather, or accidents. Instead of fixed timers, lights respond to actual traffic flow. For city planners, this means less congestion. For drivers, this means fewer wasted hours.
2. Predictive Maintenance Prevents Breakdowns
AI can forecast when a component within a car, bus, or train will fail. It isn't making educated guesses. It draws upon current sensor information, driving behavior, and service histories.
When components are replaced before they fail, cars remain on the road longer. Less downtime. Less collision. Less expense. That repair saved hours of downtime—and earned riders' trust.
3. AI Makes Driving Safer
AI doesn’t get tired. It doesn’t text while driving. That’s why it’s at the heart of self-driving cars and driver-assist systems.
From lane control to automatic braking, AI helps prevent human error. These systems don’t just react—they learn. The more they’re used, the better they get.
Dedric Joseph Robinson is cautious but optimistic. “Self-driving tech is not perfect yet. But AI that supports drivers is saving lives today.”
4. Personalized Travel Is Becoming Standard
AI learns your habits over time. It tracks when you usually leave, which routes you take, and even where you like to sit. This data shapes your travel experience.
Many rideshare apps already rely on AI to predict high-demand areas and deploy drivers before requests come in. It’s not just reactive—it’s predictive. The more people use the service, the better it gets at anticipating where and when you’ll need a ride.
Some public transport systems are now using AI to adjust routes in real-time. These systems look at rider locations, time of day, and traffic conditions to create the most efficient routes on the fly. Instead of fixed schedules, buses and shuttles adapt to rider demand.
AI doesn’t stop there. It can help match riders with vehicles that meet specific needs, such as accessibility features or preferences for quieter rides. It can even learn patterns like your usual travel time on weekdays versus weekends and make personalized suggestions.
5. AI Cuts Waste and Improves Resource Use
Every empty seat on a bus or an underutilized vehicle in a fleet isn’t just wasted space—it’s a missed opportunity and a direct hit to operational efficiency. That’s where AI steps in. By analyzing real-time patterns and historical trends, AI enables smarter supply-and-demand matching. It identifies when and where peak usage happens, flags underperforming routes, and even recommends more efficient fuel usage or optimized battery charging cycles.
Smarter planning doesn’t just trim costs—it cuts down fuel use and emissions, too. That’s a win for both the business and the planet.
Final Thoughts
AI enhances the experiences of riders, drivers, and planners without causing confusion. It's not about flashy features or complicated systems; rather, it focuses on clarity, efficiency, and meaningful outcomes.

Find all types of purifiers by brand, color, display type, form and more to properly purify any Breathe Easy: Finding the Best Air Purifier for Your Home In today's world, where air quality is increasingly compromised by pollution, allergens, and even indoor contaminants, an air purifier is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. These devices work tirelessly to filter out harmful particles, leaving you with cleaner, fresher air and a healthier living environment. But with a plethora of options available, choosing the right air purifier can feel overwhelming. This article will guide you through the essential factors to consider, helping you find the best air purifier for your specific needs.   Why You Need an Air Purifier:   The benefits of clean air are numerous. An air purifier can:   Reduce Allergens: Trap airborne particles like pollen, dust mites, pet dander, and mold spores, alleviating allergy symptoms like sneezing, coughing, and watery eyes. Improve Respiratory Health: Remove irritants and pollutants that can trigger asthma attacks and other respiratory problems. Eliminate Odors: Combat unpleasant smells from cooking, pets, smoke, and chemicals. Remove Smoke & Dust: Reduce the presence of smoke particles from wildfires or cigarette smoke, and eliminate dust that settles on surfaces. Promote Better Sleep: Cleaner air can contribute to improved sleep quality by reducing congestion and creating a more comfortable breathing environment. Key Considerations When Choosing an Air Purifier:   Before diving into specific models, consider these crucial factors:   Room Size: Air purifiers are designed for specific room sizes, measured in square feet. Check the unit's specifications and choose one appropriate for the area you want to purify. Opting for a unit that's too small will render it ineffective, while an oversized purifier might be unnecessarily expensive. Filtration System: The filtration system is the heart of an air purifier. Look for: HEPA Filter (High-Efficiency Particulate Air): HEPA filters are essential for removing particles like pollen, dust, pet dander, and smoke. They are highly effective at capturing 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns in size. Activated Carbon Filter: This type of filter absorbs odors, gases, and chemicals. It's particularly beneficial for those sensitive to smells or living in areas with high levels of air pollution. Pre-Filter: A pre-filter traps larger particles like hair and dust, extending the life of the main filters. CADR Rating (Clean Air Delivery Rate): CADR measures the volume of clean air an air purifier produces per hour. Higher CADR ratings indicate faster and more efficient air cleaning. Look for a CADR rating that's at least two-thirds of your room's square footage. Noise Level: Consider the noise level, especially if you plan to use the purifier in a bedroom or office. Look for models with a low noise level (measured in decibels) on their lowest setting. Features: Explore additional features that might be beneficial: Smart Features: App control, air quality monitoring, and automatic mode adjustment. Filter Replacement Indicator: Alerts you when it's time to replace the filters. Adjustable Fan Speeds: Allows you to customize the purification level. Timer: Allows you to set the purifier to run for a specific duration. Maintenance: Consider the ongoing maintenance requirements, including filter replacement costs and frequency. Types of Air Purifiers:   Beyond the filtration system, there are different types of air purifiers:   HEPA Air Purifiers: These rely solely on HEPA filters for particle removal. Activated Carbon Air Purifiers: These primarily focus on odor and gas removal using activated carbon filters. Combination Air Purifiers: These combine HEPA and activated carbon filters for comprehensive air cleaning. Ionic Air Purifiers: These release ions that attach to airborne particles, causing them to cling to surfaces. While they can be effective, they can also produce ozone, a respiratory irritant. It's generally advisable to avoid models that intentionally produce ozone. UV Air Purifiers: These use ultraviolet (UV) light to kill bacteria and viruses. While effective for disinfection, they don't remove particles from the air. Making the Right Choice:   Choosing the best air purifier depends on your individual needs and circumstances. Consider the size of the room, the types of pollutants you want to eliminate, and your budget. Read reviews and compare features before making a final decision.   Investing in an air purifier is an investment in your health and well-being. By carefully considering the factors outlined above, you can find the perfect air purifier to create a cleaner, healthier, and more comfortable environment for you and your family.Checkout top rated Air purifier Brands Here Read the full article
